About me

LisaPortrait.jpg

I am a classical piano teacher with thirty-five years experience. I obtained my Associates Degree from the Trinity College of London, England.

I began teaching piano lessons at the age of fifteen out of my parents' studio, where my mother taught piano, and my father taught voice and organ lessons. I taught in Vancouver for twenty years until moving to Maple Ridge, where I now teach out of my home in Kanaka Creek.

My mission is to promote the love of music. I have found the most effective tools in bringing out a student's natural musical abilities are support and encouragement.

I accept students from the age of seven to adult. My passion for teaching young children inspired me to author a beginner's book that is highly successful in teaching young students how to read music. In recent years, I have experienced a trend towards older children and adults starting up classes, some as brand new beginners. We all find these lessons very rewarding and enjoyable.
